Now 2017 looks to be a pivotal year to get in on another emerging technology expected to rock the market.
Tinder, launched in 2012, is a location based dating service.
It is basically labeled as more of a hook up/sexting app.
Tinder also added that given that Facebook too has restricted access in some parts of the world, it is also testing ability to login through SMS directly from phones.
In addition, Facebook also recently admitted that “malicious actors” were able to use search tools to discover the identities and collect information on most of its two billion users worldwide.“We’re flattered that Facebook is coming into our space – and sees the global opportunity that we do – as Tinder continues to skyrocket,” Match Group CEO Mandy Ginsberg said in a statement to Tech Crunch.
“We’re surprised at the timing given the amount of personal and sensitive data that comes with this territory. S./Russia relationships.”And while Bumble is another competitor that may be affected by Facebook’s entry into dating services, the company says it’s “thrilled” about the news.“Our executive team has already reached out to Facebook to explore ways to collaborate,” a Bumble spokesperson said in a statement.
A 16% fall in crude oil prices in May soured investors’ sentiments towards the sector.
Volatility in broader markets and a ~6.4% fall in the S&P 500 Index made things worse for oilfield stocks.
